The “Saar” D-020 combination air valve for sewage combines a Kinetic large orifice and an automatic small orifice in a single body. The valve is specially designed to operate with liquids carrying solid particles such as wastewater and effluent.
The “Saar” D-020 combination air valve for sewage discharges air, gases and vapor during the filling or charging of the system and while operating under pressure and admits air to the system while being drained. The valve’s unique design guarantees complete separation between the liquid and the sealing mechanism and provides optimum work conditions.
The valve is specially designed to operate with liquids carrying solid particles such as sewage and effluent. It provides separation of the liquid from the sealing mechanism. The air/gas gap separation is sustained under pressure up to 16 bar by a conical body shape and under vibrations by a spring loaded joint.
Kinetic component – the valve must discharge air, gas and/or vapor at high velocity during filling of the system and admits air during its drainage. The valve should be designed to prevent premature closing and continue to discharge air, gas and/or vapor up to 0.8 bar (11 psi) differential pressure.
Automatic component – the valve will release accumulated air, gas and/or vapor from the system, while the system operates under pressure. It will have a large dimensional orifice, at least 12 sq. mm, which is less susceptible to obstruction by debris.
Guarantees complete separation of the liquid from the sealing mechanism by creating an air gap at the top of the valve.
The air gap, guaranteed even under extreme conditions, is achived by a conical body shape that maintains maximum distance between the liquid and the Sealing Mechanism; while obtaining minimum body length.
Spring loaded joint between the stem and the upper float, to ensure that vibrations of the lower float will not unseal the automatic valve. Release of air will occur only after the accumulation of enough air.
Funnel-shaped lower body ensures that the residue sewage matter will sink to the system and be carried away.
Self cleaning mechanism. Includes A.R.I patent: Rolling Seal Mechanism.
The valve may be flushed through a ball valve at the valve’s lower part.
Reliable operation reduces water hammer incidents.
Dynamic design allows high velocity air discharge, exceeding 0.8 bar differential pressure; preventing premature closing.
